Tranquility to clarity

Tranquility, or calmness, is simultaneously a result and a necessity. Educating the body to respond and apply attacks or defense techniques require not only special physical attributes but also mental ones.

Body will always follow the mind. However, the body can influence the mind as well.  Just we need to control our breathing for efficient oxygen intake, we also need to be aware of our mindset and emotional status. A reactive mind or panic are expressed through reckless actions. A calm mind is more perceptive, which enhances awareness and intuition which leads to proper decisions.  Both influence how we perform.

Awareness is the medium of control. Thus a calm mind is prone to be in more control and focus than a reactive and impulsive one. The deeper the calm the deeper the reflection. Through practice, a beginner’s mind will start to settle and remove the unnecessary thoughts to maintain proper focus. Tranquility is the only way to clarity of the mind. In tranquility, mud in muddy water will settle, and the water will become clear. The same is with the mind. A calm mind is a clear mind.
